About ESL

English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are offered to help non–native speakers to communicate in English through the development of skills in listening and observing, speaking, reading, and writing. At the beginning level, emphasis is on improving listening comprehension, vocabulary development, and English structure.

Classes are offered both day and evening. Classes are offered at the West Seattle and NewHolly campuses.

Teachers will help students choose specific skills to supplement their core classes. All of our ESL classes lead students toward college and career readiness.

The classes are limited, open entry. Before entering the program, students must take an English language placement test.

The USA is the most popular destination to study English as a Second Language.

About Seattle

Seattle is a seaport city on the west coast of the United States and the seat of King County, Washington. Seattle is the largest city in both the state of Washington and the Pacific Northwest region of North America. In July 2013, it was the fastest-growing major city in the United States and remained in the Top 5 in May 2015.

The city is situated on an isthmus between Puget Sound (an inlet of the Pacific Ocean) and Lake Washington, about 100 miles (160 km) south of the Canada–United States border. A major gateway for trade with Asia, Seattle is the fourth-largest port in North America in terms of container handling as of 2015.

In Seattle you simply can’t skip the Central Public Library – a modern architectural marvel of glass grids, unusual shapes, and a “book spiral” that climbs four stories. Stroll over to Pike Place Market to visit the original Starbucks. In the heart of the city lies Chihuly Garden and Glass, which will dazzle you with its colorful and delicate works.
