Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics (KNURE) is a higher education institution of the highest level of accreditation in Ukraine. It is one of the oldest Universities of Technologies in Ukraine with over 12000 students and 30 scientific centers.

It has strong research and education capabilities in electrical engineering, electronics, telecommunications, ICT and computer technologies.

KNURE hosts International Academy of Applied Radio&Electronics and the Eastern-Ukrainian branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), pioneered the development of distance learning in Ukraine. Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics offers a wide range of educational programs in engineering, IT and humanities from bachelor to post-doctoral degree.It trains over 11,000 studentsin different educational levels. The University ranks first among technical universities of Ukraine by the results of the rankings made by the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sport of Ukraine.

In the top 200 the university has retained its place since last year and ranks 15th among higher educational institutions of Ukraine and 2nd in Eastern Ukraine.

Strong cooperation within TEMPUS, INTAS, INCO-Copernicus, EU Joint- and Double-Degree Master programs allowed KNURE to become one of the first HEIs in Ukraine which introduced the Bologna principles and ECTS to its practices.

More than 130 professors and 340 post-graduate degree holders teach to the students, encouraging researches in dozens of new scientific areas. One of the most important of them is the space researches. The university students together with the stuff had created different equipment for research of near-earth outer space.

The university cooperates with numerous European universities by participation in different international programs and integration into the European and world systems of higher education.

About Kharkiv

Kharkiv is a city situated in the north-eastern part of Ukraine. It is the second largest city after Kiev and the first capital of the country. According to some historical documents, the city was founded in 1654, but the origin of it’s name is still a mystery. Kharkiv is the second largest in Ukraine on scientific and educational potential. The city has 13 national universities and numerous professional, technical and private higher education institutions, offering its students a wide range of disciplines.

Kharkiv has good infrastructure. It has an extremely functional/practical underground transit system and a relatively well-connected bus network. The inhabitants are friendly and passionate. In addition, the hospitality towards foreigners is very warm – probably owing to it’s long-standing status as an educational town.
