Kyiv medical university of UAFM (KMU) was established in the year 1992. It is one of the best institutes for medical education in Ukraine. The university has been outperforming many other institutes located in the country holds a special department of Research and Innovation with a simple goal of implementing all the modern training methods into the conventional medical education system to reach the aspired goal of training excellent clinicians.

KMU aims at maintaining a reputation of teaching with a difference. The rare specialty of combining the basics of Folk medicine with conventional medicine makes our specialists have an edge over all other health professionals in the world. The University has been constantly working on combining principles of evidence based medicine and Practical based learning in the traditional

European curriculum to give that added advantage to our students.

The University enjoys pardonable pride in being the only institute in Ukraine with a program that allows the student to have hands on practical training in the best private health care establishments in the country. KMU IS the only university in the country to have a unique practice of making its students undergo part time training in Germany or Poland.

Kyiv Medical University is one of the biggest Ukrainian private schools, only private medical college this scale — at the university above 2000 people, 15% of them — are foreign students from 45 countries.

University trains specialists in the direction of 22 «Health Care» faculties: medical specialty «Medicine», the term of training — 6 years, a form of education — full dental department, specialty «Dentistry», the period of study — 5 years, a form of education — full «Pharmacy», learning — full-time and part-time, term of study 5 and 5.5 years respectively.

Since first course, students have access to cutting-edge advances in medicine — taking part in academic exchange programs, international conferences, with international scientific libraries. At the same time, much attention is paid millennial heritage of complementary medicine: the CMU teach elective courses in 15 areas, including Pharmacognosy, herbal medicine, homeopathy, reflexology, manual therapy, iridology and others. Elements of integrated teaching alternative medicine topics in educational work programs of clinical disciplines. Starting from the 3rd year the best students are able to take a summer internship abroad. Now the University is working to create a unique curriculum, which would be as close to the curriculum of one of the European countries in order to facilitate the passage of our graduates nostrification procedures in the future.

International Department of the Kyiv medical university of UAFM establishes and develops international relations and international cooperation in the field of medical Research with Universities, educational institutions, foreign citizens, research institutions, international organizations, foundations and others.

Accreditation

The Kyiv Medical University of UAFM is accredited by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine with Level IV the highest level of accreditation for a higher educational Institute in Ukraine.

About city

Kyiv is one of the most beautiful cities of the world that picturesquely spreads on the Dnipro river hills. As others old cities Kyiv has no exact date of foundation. According to the legend, Kyiv was founded more than 1,500 years ago by three brothers Kyi, Schek, Khoryv and their sister Lybid. The city was named after the oldest brother Kyi. In the 9th century Kyiv became the capital of the Ancient Rus. The territory of this independent state stretched out from the Baltic Sea in the North to the Black Sea in the South and from Volga River in the East to the Carpathians Mountains in the West. Kyiv is often referred as “the mother of all cities” by Russians and Ukrainians and as a cradle of Slavonic civilization.

Since then, Kyiv has developed into an important center of East Europe attracting foreign businesses and investors to its economic and natural potential. Considering population Kyiv is among the 10 largest cities of Europe. Its historical path is related to the great political and cultural events in Europe and represented in many age-old architectural monuments. 2148 objects of history and culture are located on the territory of Kyiv. Among them are over 100 museums 33 theatres and theatres-studios 53 cultural buildings 140 libraries, 20 concert organizations and independent musical collectives that are working in the capital of Ukraine.
